It's incredibly satisfying to see the look on my client's faces as I work my magic and transform their hair. And now that I have my own salon, I love the freedom to create the most welcoming space to pamper them with a relaxing hair styling experience. I've always loved working with my hands, and styling hair is my most exciting expression of that urge to create. I also love how my science background helps me formulate and really understand hair colour on a molecular level, but also about the best products and ingredients to keep hair healthy and vibrant looking.

Experience & Training

Even as a girl, I loved styling my friend's hair. But it was working part time in a salon (Kingston's James Brett Coiffure) duing my final years of school that really ignited my passion. Because our salon also sold make-up, I completed my makeup artistry certificate (from St. Lawrence College). The week after completing my degree at Queen’s University (Life Science & Art History), I started hair dressing school at the Ottawa Academy. It was wonderful, and a dream come true. Even before graduating, I attended my first four day international haircutting training at The Toni & Guy Academy in New York City. After that, Goldwell Trichology Class brought me to Toronto, ON for Colour training.

When an opportunity at the Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Banff Springs opened up I packed up my hair tools and headed out west. I lived and worked (and fell in love!) at the Banff Springs Hotel for 3 years where I mastered my wedding skills and attended every training and hair show I possibly could. After that, I settled in Calgary with my husband, and began working at Angles Strathcona where I was introduced to the world of L’Oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy. We were named Alberta Finalist and competed in Toronto for the Canadian Trophy. We had so much fun and I met so many amazing hair artist, that I decided to join the L’Oreal Professionnel Education team as Artistic Educator, quickly becomming the go-to person for in-salon and academy trainings, hair shows and events in Calgary. 

For the next 3 years I worked for the team at Karamel Salon, but I've always wanted to open my own salon. I decided it was finally time to open my own space this past June. Best decision ever! I have loved creating a casual space where I can welcome clients into a relaxing and comfortable hair styling experience.

I have been doing hair for over 11 years and has been featured in Weddingbells Magazine, Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine and the Calgary Bridal Guide.
